Tuesday, February 28th, I’ll be speaking at LACMA about the artwork of Emil Bisttram and Dane Rudhyar as part of “In Response—Another World: The Transcendental Painting Group.”

I’ll be focusing specifically on illuminating the spiritual practices that influenced their paintings of the Transcendental Painting Group era (1936–1945) and the direct evidence of their study of Theosophical and other metaphysical doctrines represented in their work.
